Google Adsense: 3 Killer Ways To A Money Making Machine

By on 09:32

If you get optimum use out of Google AdSense, it can be an effective and fast money making machine. If you are a new blogger like I was a short time ago, it might be hard to get the ultimate advertising formula to achieve the maximum revenue out of your website. In this article I will be giving you 3 ways to get the most out of your adverts and not waste valuable time and money.

When? - Time Is Money

Traffic is the engine that drives your website, without it you will not have the success you are hoping for. The best way to get this traffic is to keep producing helpful and valuable content for your blog/website so you get people visiting your site and viewing your content, making your hard work and effort worthwhile.  This emphasis on providing content should be your main aim in the first months of your site start-up, then, on the basis that you are getting at least 1000 views a month, start monetising your site. Although it might seem like lost revenue if you don’t put adverts onto the site from the start, trust me take your time and don’t rush into advertising as it could have an adverse effect. This is the case because the early viewers could turn into your regular reader base and if you give off  the impression that you are doing it just for the money and not for the enjoyment of publishing your content they might go elsewhere, possibly to your competitors. This is why your timing is vital, because time is money and if you get it right you can have your well deserved money in no time at all.

Where? - Location Is Key

As a new, eager blogger you might have the ‘put some adverts anywhere on the site and hope for the best’ mindset. Don’t get me wrong I made this mistake for longer than I had hoped and now you don’t need to make the same errors I did. It surprised me when I found out how much of a difference the position of an advert can make when it comes to Adsense revenue. Positioning is vital because it can decide whether you get a click or not as there is a fine line between a high click-through rate and a high bounce rate. The main factor when deciding where to place your adverts, is to get them into the readers line of sight, and quick. When a potential click visits your site, you need to make your adverts accessible to the readers eye, by this I mean that you need to either embed them into the text of your content so they are unmissable or put them somewhere where you know they will inspected. A good example of this is to put a banner style advert at the top of your page near the title, I recommend this because the viewer has come to your site for a reason and there's a good chance that they are going to browse your title, resulting in a high possibility of them getting pulled in by the advert. However, this is not always effective because the reader has come to look at your content and by distracting them away from your hard-work, it could result in one click but could lose you the potential of a regular reader and regular clicks. Bearing the fact that they have come for the content in mind, it is advantageous to embed your adverts into the text so you get a balance of clicks and regular viewers. There are other ways of obtaining balance within your website such as placing smaller adverts alongside the content so you don't run the risk of either distracting the viewer before they have started reading, breaking up your content or putting the reader off completely. Depending on the balance you want to achieve, either method has its pros and cons so choose wisely.

How Many? - Don’t Smother The Reader With Adverts

Although Adsense only limits you to three adverts per page, it isn't always necessary to use them all. From personal experience as a reader myself, I know that they don't want to be shone in the face by adverts as it builds a sense of 'they just want me to click the adverts' in the readers mind and this creates a bad view towards your website and the majority of the time will result in a bounce from your site and you have lost a regular reader. Also, if your presentation of your adverts have this negative impact on the reader, then the likely hood is that they won't be clicking on any of your other adverts and therefore will not be generating any revenue. If you choose to include a high number of adverts on your pages, make them smaller and place them far apart so they become noticeable but not too overpowering. On the contrary, if you are going for a low number of adverts, make sure it gets seen by putting it within the first section of your page. Remember to keep these types of adverts accessible and not too noticeable.

Yet again, it is about finding the right balance and you can only find that out because everyone's sites/blog viewers vary, so by using these tips in the right combination could contribute towards finding the winning formula for your site and hopefully with this revenue will follow.
